Assembly Technician

Location: Gospel Oak, London (about 2 mins walk from the station)

Salary: £25K –  £35K

Working days and hours: Monday-Friday, 10am – 6pm

Start date: ASAP

Terms: Fixed-term contract, six months (with possibility of extension)

Description of our Assembly Technician role:

Shadow is looking for an Assembly Engineer to join us for an initial 6-month period to build our newest products. These will be initial runs in low volumes (10s off). If successful, further production is likely required in 2024.

 

An assembly process has been developed for these products, which needs to be established to produce low volumes for our initial customers consistently. The ideal candidate will enjoy assembling products with small components, including machined parts, electronics and silicone moulding.

Your main Accountabilities and Responsibilities include:

Build and test tactile sensors

Run tests on our latest product development projects

General support of the Product Development Team in London

To thrive as our new Assembly Technician, we think you’ll have the following experience and skill sets:

Good manual dexterity

Ability to follow instructions and diagrams

Ability to learn assembly tasks and processes quickly and repeat to a very consistent standard

Able to perform diagnostic tests

Experience in establishing QA/QC processes to promote the production of quality products.

Experience in working with and testing electronics

Maintaining and updating logs for tests or following inspection of a product.

Comfortable assembling products with small components

Prior experience as an assembly technician or similar role

Must maintain the work area so it is clean, safe and orderly

Excellent attention to detail

Tidy and well-organised

Good written and oral communication skills, especially in technical contexts.
